Software reliability growth model with change-point and environmental function

چکیده
This paper presents a SRGM (software reliability growth model) with both change-point and environmental function based on NHPP (non-homogeneous Poisson process). Although a few research projects have been devoted to the change-point problems of SRGMs, consideration of the variation of environmental factors in the existing models during testing time is limited. The proposed model is one of a few NHPP models, which takes environmental factors as a function of testing time. FDR (fault detection rate) is usually used to measure the effectiveness of fault detection by test techniques and test cases. A FDR function after the change-point of the testing is proposed, which is computed from both environmental factors and FDR before the change-point of the testing. A NHPP SRGM with both changepoint and environmental function called CE-SRGM is built which integrates the FDR before the change-point of the testing and the proposed FDR function after the change-point of the testing. CE-SRGM is evaluated using two sets of software failure data. The experimental results show that the predictive power of CE-SRGM is better than those of other SRGMs. 2006 Elsevier Inc. Change-point modeling with difference in software failure-occurrence time-interval for reliability assessment
This paper discusses change-point modeling for software reliability assessment with a relationship of the software failure-occurrence time-interval before and after change point by using a testing-environmental function. In an actual testing phase of a software development process, it might be better to consider that there exists a relationship between the time intervals before change-point and...
متن کاملSRGM with logistic-exponential Testing-effort function with change-point and Analysis of Optimal release policies based on increasing the test efficiency
-Reliability is the one of the important factor of software quality. Past few decades several software reliability growth models are proposed to access the quality of the software. Main challenging task of reliability growth model is predicting the reliability, total cost at optimal time at, software released into the market. It has been observed that most of the reliability growth models predi...
متن کاملA Bivariate Software Reliability Model with Change-Point and Its Applications
Testing-time when a change of a stochastic characteristic of the software failure-occurrence time or software failure-occurrence time-interval is observed is called change-point. It is said that effect of the change-point on the software reliability growth process influences on accuracy for software reliability assessment based on a software reliability growth model (SRGM). We propose an SRGM w...
متن کاملIntegrating Change Point into Software Reliability Growth Model along with Testing – Effort Function
In this paper a software reliability growth model (SRGM) based on non-homogenous Poisson process (NHPP) is proposed. The principal idea is to provide a SRGM which incorporates both exponentiated Weibull (EW) testing-effort function and change point. In the earlier research, it is found that the probability of fault detection is not constant. It can be changed at some point of time which is call...
متن کاملChange-Point Modeling for Software Reliability Measurement Depending on Two-Dimensional Software Reliability Growth Factors
It is known that the trend of the software reliability growth process changes during testing or operation phases in an actual environment due to a change of specification, software upgrading, a change of fault-target, and so forth. This paper discusses an extended two-dimensional software reliability growth modeling, in which the software reliability growth process is assumed to depend on the s...
